Frank Brennan, the General Manager of Republic of Work, South Mall, Cork.

Tell us about yourself;

My name is Frank Brennan. I’m the General Manager of Republic Of Work, Cork’s premier Innovation Campus in the heart of Cork City.

I have been working in ROW since the company first opened and have seen it grow from strength to strength over the past two years.

Where were you born?

In Cork city.

Where do you live?

I grew up in Ballinlough but recently bought a house in Carrigaline.

Family?

I’m married to my best friend, Susan McCarthy, and we have a gorgeous baby daughter Paige.

Best friend?

Patrick Burke @chefdeburca — foodie, head chef and complete chancer!

Earliest childhood memory?

My dad collecting me in an artic’ truck from nursery school and giving the kids a lap around the estate in it. I was popular that day!

Person you most admire?

Lance Armstrong — cheat and all that he is, he still put in the work and kept up that facade.

Person who most irritates you?

TRUMP.... That’s a bandwagon answer, I know, but seriously like!

Who would you like to see as Minister for Finance and why?

To be honest, I have very little interest in politics but if I was to hazard a guess I would say our CFO, Pat Quirke. The man knows money and is a straight as an arrow.

He would run the country based on the numbers and not by political view.

Where was your most memorable holiday?

The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on TodayFM.

I’ve mastered cooking a medium/rare Ribeye Steak with garlic potatoes and veg.

Favourite restaurant?

I’m a fan of Ecos in Douglas. You can’t beat their beef curry.

Last book you read?

The Startup Way by Eric Ries.

Best book you read?

The Rooster Bar by John Grisham.

Last album/CD/download you bought?

Lewis Capaldi — Divinely Inspired to a Hellish Extent.

Favourite song?

One - U2.

One person you would like to see in concert?

No interest in country music BUT I would like to see Garth Brooks to see what all the fuss is about.

Do you have a pet?

A goldfish — Ger. He’s eight years old. I’m sure that’s some sort of record.

Morning person or night owl?

A bit of both now that we have Paige, but typically an annoying morning person.

Your proudest moment?

Becoming a dad.

Spendthrift or saver?

Of late, a saver! But I certainly know how to spend it.

Name one thing you would improve in your area in which you live?

The traffic. More cycle lanes and priority bus lanes would help hugely.
