Cork Airport announces three new summer destinations
Ryanair flights will be taking people from Cork airport to three brand new countries.
Cork holidaymakers will now be able to fly to three new countries; Greece, Croatia and Belgium.
Cork Airport has announced that the three new summer destinations are available to book now on the Ryanair website.
The first of the new flights to commence is to Brussels South Charleroi Airport, about 46km out of central Brussels, which will commence on Sunday, March 31.
Flights to Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands and a popular spot for holidaymakers will begin on June 1 while on June 3, flights will commence from Cork to Zadar, the fourth largest airport in Croatia.
Barry Holland, the Communications Manager at Cork Airport told The Echo, "This summer, passengers from across Munster and the south of Ireland will have three new, exciting destinations to choose from when planning a summer holiday or city break.
“The introduction of twice-weekly services to Rhodes and Zadar will undoubtedly be popular additions to our extensive route network, and a new three-times weekly service to Brussels Charleroi will also feature in this year's summer schedule.”
He said the return of a direct Brussels service "is particularly welcome from an inbound tourism perspective as the wider Brussels area is home to 1.2 million people and it will provide direct air access for that market when travelling to Ireland's scenic south, the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland's Ancient East."
He added: “We would like to thank Ryanair for their continued commitment to growth at Cork Airport."

Cork Airport managing director Niall McCarthy told The Echo at the end of last year that the airport is expected to reach a new record in 2024 by serving three million passengers.
“In 2019, before the pandemic, we served 2.59 million passengers so we are growing beyond pre-pandemic levels and expect to continue that growth with more passengers and more destinations in the years ahead,” he said.
