A man in his 50s has died in a motorbike crash in Co Limerick.

The single vehicle collision happened on the R519 at Callahow near Dromcollogher at around 7pm last night.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.

The road remains closed this morning with diversions in place, and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
